Tantrums, Leadership and the Donald

Donald Trump supporters say they like him because he tells it like it is. Really? Is that a way to define leadership? Kids tell it like it is. To their parent’s chagrin, they blurt out, “there is a pirate,” at someone wearing an eyepatch or “look a cyborg,” when someone has a prosthetic limb. “Telling it like it is” is not the same as telling the truth or making an informed statement. “Telling it like it is” is  a rhetorical soundbite of feeling without knowledge and or consideration of cause or effect. “Telling it like it is” is  told from a singular focus. Much like temper tantrum phrases uttered by children like “mine, that’s not fair and you never let me do anything.” These selfish protestations are “telling it like it is”  and are used manipulate, get attention, and guilt supervisory influences. It’s easy to recognize this behavior in early childhood development,  sadly, for an aging megalomaniac, it’s garnered support and belief in leadership that “tells it like it is.”
